Searching is free, claiming is free, and per the states' own association (NAUPA), roughly one in seven people has something waiting. Logged-out results are what a stranger, employer, or landlord actually sees.

Run Google's own "Results about you" tool — results-about-you.

Google will flag results exposing your phone, address, or email — and takes removal requests directly.

Remove what shouldn't be out there.

Honest version: not everything is removable, and anyone who promises otherwise is selling you something. Here's what actually works, in order of effort.

1 · The free removals almost everyone qualifies for

Google removes results that expose your phone, home address, or email via Results about you, and de-lists pages that no longer exist via the outdated-content tool. Both are free and take minutes.

2 · Data-broker opt-outs (free, tedious — this is the grind)

Every major people-search site is legally required to offer an opt-out. The top ones, direct links:

Expect profiles to reappear within months — brokers re-scrape public records. Re-run the sweep quarterly.

3 · Arrest and mugshot content

If a case was dismissed, expunged, or sealed, most legitimate publishers remove it on request, free — email them the disposition record. Never pay a "mugshot removal" fee: charging to remove booking photos is illegal in a growing number of states, and paying one site funds the next. If a publisher demands money, that's your signal to escalate — to Google (above), or to counsel.

Free means free. Searching is free, every official link is free, and claiming your money through your state is free. We never take a cut of anything you recover.
We never claim on your behalf. Every Recover link goes to the official state program — .gov or the state's contracted portal — never a middleman.
We never charge to remove anything we publish. If content on any site we operate should come down, that removal is free, always, no exceptions. Paid removal of our own content would be extortion, and we don't do it in either direction: we also won't pay other sites' removal fees for you, because paying them keeps the racket alive.
